Toric Contact Lenses
Toric contact lenses are those that can correct astigmatism. They can be made from soft lens material or gas permeable materials.
Unlike ordinary contact lenses, toric lenses have two different powers in the same lens. This means that toric lenses must remain in a stable position on the eye for best vision. When these lenses move too much, vision can be blurry when blinking. Vision is typically better with gas permeable toric lenses, but most people prefer soft toric lenses instead. We have found that the happiest people for LASIK are those who want better vision than can be achieved with contacts. LASIK can treat even high amounts of astigmatism.
