Eye Exams Keep Eyes Healthy
Most of us are familiar with eye exams. An eye exam test is actually a series of tests performed by a doctor to evaluate the condition of your eyes and the status of your vision.
The doctors here at Doctors for Visual Freedom in Chicago recommend that all people have periodic and thorough eye examinations as part of routine primary care, especially since some eye diseases do not display symptoms, at least not in the early part of the disease. Catching certain eye diseases early can help stop the progression of the disease with proper treatments.
A typical eye exam includes:
- Visual acuity test
- Refractions
- Pupil function testing
- Ocular motility
- Visual field testing
- External examination
